The Ram 45 transmission comes with the high performance Sonnax Line Pressure Booster, Transgo Shift Kit, Second Clutch Red Eagle Power Pack. This Power Pack adds one extra clutch for a 50% increase in holding power plus better clutch material and Kolene steels, Forth Clutch Red Eagle Power Pack. This Power Pack adds one extra clutch for a 33% increase in holding power plus better clutch material and Kolene steels. Overdrive and Underdrive Red Eagle Power Packs are installed. Alto Red Eagle heavy duty clutch material on the other clutches, 11 5/8" heavy duty / performance torque converter (#45T) with a carbon fiber clutch, all bearing construction and furnace brazed fins. You can order stall speeds up to 3400 RPM. The newly developed Sonnax Line Pressure Booster makes it possible to override the factory pressure settings on a permanent basis. 68RFE Low / Reverse Roller Clutch

This is the main weak point in the 68RFE transmission. If you have a performance engine and tow heavy loads this is the part you need. The 68RFE low and reverse clutch is only on when the output shaft speed is below 150 RPM. So when your doing hard accelerations or burnouts and the driveshaft speed reaches 150 the clutch releases and drops back on the low and reverse sprag. The OEM type sprag will not tolerate this too many times before it will flip the drive dogs. Result is no 1st gear and 2nd gear starts. Cost $625.00

45RFE - 545RFE - 68RFE Line Pressure Booster

#45LPB / #68LPB. This family of transmissions uses a full range line pressure sensor mounted on the outside of the transmission for "closed loop" line pressure control. Due to this system, traditional methods of raising line pressure by changing the PR spring or valves have no effect. This Line Pressure Booster alters the pressure signal sent to the computer causing the computer to raise line pressure. The 68RFE has a 10-15 PSI increase and the 45RFE and 545RFE has a 15-30 PSI increase. Higher line pressure increases clutch holding power and torque capacity. Changes in shift feel will be noticed mostly under aggressive driving or loaded conditions. This part is ideal for heavy duty and modified vehicles and even stock transmissions when a little extra pressure is desired. No other modifications are required. The Line Pressure Booster installs between the pressure sensor and vehicle harness using OEM style sealed connectors. Simply unplug the vehicle harness and reconnect with one of these parts. Are you having the "Bow-Tie" Blues? Is that raspy new Camaro or Silverado killing you on the streets? No worries here, because we now offer a complete solution! We offer a new line of 722.6 high performance torque converters to help with acceleration and common failures for your late model dodge transmission.

To the left you will notice the factory converter comes equipped with only 2 clutches and 3 steels, We change the current clutch count of 2 to 3 high energy frictions with special heat treated steel that offers a higher friction coefficient. We also use special heat treated steels to reduce deflection and coning of the clutches with high apply rates. These 2 modifications increase clutch apply surface area by 50% giving you a better engagement feel, while also reduce slip and parasitic loss.

To the right we have the factory stator on the left and our custom billet stator on the right. At first glance it is obvious that the factory stator has larger opening windows that allow you to see right through it. This decreases the torque multiplication effect of the converter. The factory stator also is made from cast material that can deflect under high load and sometimes break. Our custom Billet Stator shown on the right allows us to raise the stall speed at wide-open-throttle 500-700 rpm's without losing any part throttle driving efficiency. You will also notice how we have designed the fins on the stator with a tighter gate, therefore you cannot see through the windows. This again is increasing the torque multiplication effect helping you get your vehicle off the line. Also this stator has 13 custom designed proprietary modifications to it.

This is a quick picture of our tig welding modification we perform after setting the pitch of the fins on the pump side of the converter. This process also ensures that under heavy load with accelerated fluid velocity the fins do not deflect or bend in any way. While this process takes extra time in the build process we do it anyway, every little fine is welded ensuring no future failures on these converters. How many other converter builders are willing to do this, much less put the picture right here!

This is a picture of our turbine side of the converter. We have these manufactured new with our custom fin pitches. These come already furnace brazed from our builders, with many different pitches to choose from it allows us to make a converter for any of your needs.

To determine your tires true diameter in relation to determining what speedometer gears you need, measure from the ground up to the center of the axle then multiply by two. The actual run out of the tire can be as much as 2 to 3 inches less than what the circumference of the tire measures. In effect your tire has two diameters.
To determine your rear end ratio, raise both tires off of the ground, turn both tires at the same time one complete turn, at the same time count the turns of the drive shaft, this is your ratio.

The short shaft gears are for an electronic speedometer and the long shaft gears are for a cable driven speedometer. This is true most of the time, not always.

Dodge / Jeep 2WD / 4WD Speedometer Gears

#12DG. These gears are used with most Jeep and Dodge truck electronic speed sensors for the speedometer. You can increase or decrease the number of teeth depending on tire size to make your speedometer more accurate. The drive gear has 13 teeth and is machined into the output shaft. These are the late model type with a short shaft. Comes in 28 tooth to 43 tooth. Cost $39.00.

The short shaft gears are for an electronic speedometer and the long shaft gears are for a cable driven speedometer. This is true most of the time, not always.
